WHO AM I ?

It is not always easy to begin psychotherapy. The personal difficulties that have led us to it and the anxiety to discuss it with a stranger converge so much that it’s common to put it back until we cannot take it anymore. And this is why it seems important to say a bit who I am as a professional by sharing my work history here.
I graduated from the University of Nantes (France) in humanities. I followed two curriculums - one in Psychology and one in Sciences of Education (Bachelor’s diploma). I got a Post-Graduate Diploma in Clinical and Counselling Psychology and Psychopathology in 2002. It’s a professional qualification which allows me to practice the registered profession of Psychologist.
A clinical psychologist is a practitioner who help their clients to unknot their psychological and moral difficulties by using their own reflection and personal psychological resources.
The Psychologist differs from the Psychiatrist. The Psychiatrist is a registered medical professional who was trained to prescribe medication. However, the Psychiatrist has a reduced training in Psychology (cognition, organisation of the mind, etc.).
Since 2002, my training as a clinical and counselling psychologist and its versatility has allowed me to practice in multiple sectors and with all types of clients.
Hence, I worked in general hospitals, in psychiatric services, in forensics and prisons, in education, with the elderly and nursing home, with autistic children and autistic adults, in pedopsychiatry, in social care and charitable organisations including work with homeless people and illegal immigrants. I have practised with clients of all ages - from paediatric services to palliative and end of life care.
My career path singles itself out, in my opinion, as in 2009 I moved from France to the UK.
Now, after 15 years working with British people and also with French expatriates, I can avail myself of working in both languages and offering an intimate expertise in issues related to migrating populations.
I work with my clients on universal topics such as identity, sexuality, work and career changes, parenthood, family issues, relationships and so on.
In parallel to my curriculum in Psychology, I trained as a Psychoanalyst.
Psychoanalysis is a method of advanced exploration of the conscious processes and unconscious roots involved in the client's suffering and problems.
Since 2015, I have been working as a psychologist and a psychoanalyst in my private practice.
